Code of conductDARIAH is dedicated to providing a welcoming, open and safe learning environments based on mutual respect and the acknowledgement of diversity in backgrounds, experience and career-levels where all participants regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical appearance, race, religion, ethnicity, language, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, physical or cognitive ability, age, appearance, or other group status. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Workshop participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the workshop at the discretion of the workshop organizers. EnforcementParticipants asked by the workshop staff to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, event organizers retain the right to take any necessary actions to keep the Winter School a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the workshop. Organizers may take action to redress anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the event or making the environment hostile for any participants. We expect participants to follow these rules at all event venues and event-related social activities. Additionally, participants asked by another attendee to stop any behavior perceived as harassing, threatening or otherwise unpleasant are expected to comply within reasonable limits. If a participant considers such a request unreasonable they may raise the issue with the workshop organisers. ReportingIf someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it to inescastano.ihc@fcsh.unl.pt as soon as possible. Harassment and other code of conduct violations reduce the value of our event for everyone. People like you make our scientific community a better place, and we want you to be happy here. Harassment or non-inclusive behavior is defined by you. So, do not hesitate to report something because someone else thinks the behavior is "reasonable". That person may not share your protected characteristic(s). You can make a report either personally or anonymously. Anonymous ReportYou can make an anonymous report using the online form hereafter: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSda6jYZgWrwHEHeF7Mb5XehGcyLLFeyrdu4hXud4ROgZb5VuQ/viewform?usp=sf_link. This form will be continuously monitored during the event by the inclusiveness committee members. If you have a complaint that you are not comfortable with sending to the whole committee, you can use an online service to send an anonymous email to a committee member of your choosing. Look at the form above to see the kind of information we need to process the complaint. Personal ReportMake a personal report by emailing the inclusiveness committee at inescastano.ihc@fcsh.unl.pt or adding contact information to the complaint form above. This address will be continuously monitored during the event by the inclusiveness committee. You may also report the incident to any one of the inclusiveness committee members that you feel most comfortable reporting to. The person you report to will share the information with the workshop organizing team. What happens if I make a report?We can't follow up an anonymous report with you directly, but we will investigate it to the fullest extent possible and take all feasible actions to prevent a recurrence. When taking a personal report, our staff will adhere to the strictest confidence in handling the report. They may involve other event staff to the extent that this is required to ensure your report is managed properly. Once safe, we'll ask you to tell us about what happened. This can be upsetting, but we'll handle it as respectfully as possible, and you can bring someone to support you. You will never be asked to confront anyone and we won't tell anyone who you are. Our team will be happy to help you contact hotel or venue security, local law enforcement, local support services, provide escorts, or otherwise assist you to feel safe for the duration of the event. IPR and confidentiality agreement1. The Parties acknowledge that the terms of this Agreement are to govern the use and treatment of any confidential or commercial sensitive information the Participant may be exposed to during the DESIR Winter School. 2. The intellectual property rights of the participant projects belong to them. 3. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, participants shall authorize the use of non-confidential information in the dissemination platforms associated to DARIAH ERIC and DESIR project. 4. Applicants must indicate to the organization which elements require confidentiality. 5. The organization cannot be held responsible for any intellectual property infringement, misuse or plagiarism by other participants or by entities outside the organization. 6. Following DARIAH’s Open Access Guidelines, contributors to the Winter School are kindly asked to contribute to make their presentations openly available to be published at the DARIAH Campus training platform under a Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 license. |
